Important Information

I am an unregistered NDIS Provider, but have chosen to work within the guidelines set by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. Participants should be confident when engaging a Provider and be assured that the person with whom they are sharing personal details about their life will not only protect that information, but use it in an appropriate manner. It is a leap with trust to engage with any new person, and it is important for me to provide the details to establish a professional partnership with each Participant.

Code of Conduct

As an unregistered and independent NDIS provider, I have chosen to work under the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission's Code of Conduct. I therefore follow the Codes of Conduct for Providers and Workers.

Information about the NDIS Code of Conduct is available via this link: https://www.ndiscommission.gov.au/about/ndis-code-conduct

Participant Rights & Responsibilities

All NDIS Participants have rights and responsibilities. Information relating to this is available at: https://www.ndis.gov.au/participants/your-rights-and-responsibilities This link will take you to the NDIS website.

Intellectual Property

Documents, such as resumes and cover letters, are designed specifically to the requirements of a participant. The intellectual property of the content of such documents is owned by the participant, but ownership of formatting and general design remains with John Badwater. Information specific to each document will be provided to the participant during delivery of the service.

Data Sharing with Participants

I have chosen Halaxy to manage appointments, store, and share data with participants. Halaxy is built to clinical standards and used throughout Australia by doctors and allied health workers. General email is not secure, so secure file transfer is used to share documents. Each Participant is provided with a personal inbox, which can only be accessed by them and me. I will provide full instructions on how to access and manage documents.

Availability

I am an independent Provider and not governed by specific working days or hours. Due to my own disability, I am generally not available until after 12pm (Midday 12:00). I am available any day of the week and evenings until 10:00pm (22:00) NSW time. I prefer bookings to be made 48 hours in advance, so I can prepare and ensure that I am at my best during our appointment.

I have no specific cancellation policy because I understand the need to accommodate the needs of individuals. Just be aware, that Participants who cancel frequently may need to consider the impact that could have on maintaining employment.

Insurance

I maintain Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurances. Current certificates are available on request.

Privacy and Confidentiality

I make every effort to protect the privacy and confidentiality of each Participant. I do not share any information without the Participant's consent, unless required to by an Australian Commonwealth or State/Territory law enforcement organisation or court of law. I use an internationally recognised subscription firewall and malware scanning service. Data backups are kept on site in a fireproof safe. I utilise Halaxy clincal software with data servers that are located in Australia. In the event of data breaches, I will advise each Participant as soon as possible, and provide full details of the nature of the breach and what data may have been compromised.

Complaints and Incident Management

I follow the procedures that have been developed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

If you have a complaint about me or the service I have provided, please contact me first. I will make every effort to resolve any dispute between us. If I am unable to resolve any issues, I fully support your decision to follow the complaint procedures available through the NDIS.
